So has anyone else ever been called cancer or had the person say they hope your loved ones die from cancer?

I just want to know what riot does to fix this problem?

Yes kids do this all the time. The only way Riot can "fix" this problem is if they perma ban a very large percentage of this server population (not going to happen). At the end of they day Riot cannot stop Idiots from typying stupid shiat on the internet.

Riot does care,,,,,,,,,,,,, it cares about making money, even in a small market like OCE.
Trouble is they can't just jump hard on all these very toxic little turds, because there would only be a very very small percentage of players left if they did that; ie that's a lot of $$ out the door if Riot was really serious about stamping out abuse - which is very rampant.
Riot aren't here just for the hell of it - it's a business. Businesses only have one main objective and that is to make a profit and sustain and/or grow their business/profits. Anyone who thinks otherwise is fooling themselves. So therefore Riot will never harshly police their games/servers because it isn't in their best interests. Harshly is the critical word here - they may give lip-service to gamers by saying we won't tolerate this or that blah blah blah but at the end of the day it's mostly just tokenism... because ... see above reasons. Riot has to be seen to be doing something but in reality you can never cut off the hand that feeds you.
So therefore all you fellow gamers who like to play in peaceful games without abuse afk's bots etc etc, don't hold your breath because Riot is really the proverbial toothless tiger.!!!!

The most productive thing to do is Report the player at the end game screen. Enough reports and they will automatically be given a warning and temporary speaking bans in game. This allows the player to make 3 - 5 responses in game to his team. Anymore and he has to wait a period of time for it to become avaliable.

This goes on for about 5 - 10 games and can get worse and worse if there are repeated cases. Final decision is decided with a permanent ban against the IP address.

Oh wow! That's terrible. That sort of stuff must have toxic players quaking in their boots --- not.
80-90% of SR games I play in have 1 or 2 very toxic players. 90-95% of aram games I play in have bots. Obviously the measures riot takes to control bad behaviour / bots does very very little.
Riot cannot and will not police these things properly, ever...

Riot does try their very best. With over 10 Million players playing daily they can only do so much.

But with everyones help by reporting and sending support tickets with evidence maybe we can make the Rift a much safer and enjoyable place.
